Explore the ancient city covered by volcanic dust and discover the excavated remains of the Forum, Thermal Baths, Lupanare, and Vetti’s House with its beautiful frescos.

Day 4 Day at leisure

Day 5 Florence Walking Tour with Uffizi Gallery and Academy Museum

Discover the city of Florence, renowned as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Immerse yourself in the world’s finest art at The Academy and witness Michelangelo’s masterpieces, including the expressive Prigioni and the iconic David. The Uffizi boasts an impressive collection of paintings from renowned Masters such as Leonardo, Raphael, and Botticelli, displayed chronologically to showcase the evolution of Italian art. Beyond art, enjoy a stroll through the city center, taking in highlights like Giotto’s bell tower, Duomo Square, piazza della Signoria, and the charming Ponte Vecchio with its goldsmiths’ workshops.

Day 6 Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens Walking Tour

“Oltrarno” across the River Arno is a tranquil neighborhood where the presence of visitors is still discreet and whose establishments are mainly known and frequented by locals. In the 15th century, noble families withdrew here to find less crowded and healthier surroundings. Here is the most representative palazzo in Florence; the seat and symbol of the Medicis’ power for two centuries and home to their art collection. Known also for its sprawling architecture, the Pitti Palace includes two galleries and the private collections of the infamous Medici family. The palace was the last residence of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany and later the royal palace for the King of Italy. You will then venture into the magnificent Boboli Gardens, world-renowned for their spellbinding fountains and grottos. Boboli Gardens is a classic case study in Italian Renaissance gardens and a must-see for all art and culture lovers.

Day 7 Florence to Venice Piazzale Roma with Visit-Stop in Bologna

On your way from Florence to Venice, stop in Bologna for a guided tour. Bologna is one of the richest and most interesting cities in Italy. While strolling with your local guide you will discover why it was given various nicknames: the red, the learned, and the fat one. During the walking tour, you will stroll through the medieval market and see the highlights of the city: Piazza Maggiore, the city’s main gathering place, opened in the 13th century with its famous statue of Neptune, the Basilica of San Petronio, and the two towers symbol of the city.

Day 8 Tour in Venice with Peggy Guggenheim Museum

Venice stands alone as a city unlike any other. Accompanied by your experienced guide, you will embark on a walking exploration that delves into lesser-known facets of Venice—crucial for grasping the city’s essence. You will have the chance to discover that Venice transcends its stereotypical imagery of canals, gondolas, and damask tapestries. Marvel at the Rialto Bridge, traverse the “Campi” squares, marvel at the Bovolo staircase, and culminate the journey by crossing the Grand Canal to an unexpected Venice gem: the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Housed in Peggy Guggenheim’s former residence, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, this collection showcases the personal art gallery of renowned figures, featuring masterpieces by modern art luminaries such as Picasso, Braque, Mondrian, Magritte, and Kandinsky. This unveils a hidden side of Venice to most visitors. Upon concluding the tour, your guide will happily provide recommendations for further activities in the area.

Later you can enjoy a scenic Gondola ride. While you are visiting Venice, one of the “must-do” things is certainly a Gondola Tour. Feel part of an ancient tradition and experience the city as the noble Venetians did for more than a thousand years. Explore the maze of canals from your gondola while the experienced gondolier steers the boat through the waterways of Venice. This unforgettable 30-minute journey is sure to become one of the highlights of your Italian adventure.

Before 1630, Isola Bella was merely a rock inhabited by fishermen, featuring two small churches and a handful of vegetable gardens. The Borromeos, who had owned Isola Madre since 1501, turned their attention to Isola Bella in the early 17th century. Under Giulio Caesar III and Carlo III, they initiated a grandiose project resulting in the creation of the palazzo and its gardens. On Isola Madre, the focus in the palazzo has been on emphasizing the private dimension of the family. The style is elegantly understated, presenting a sequence of loggias and rooms adorned with tapestries, furniture, and paintings sourced from various historic residences owned by the Borromeo dynasty in Lombardy.
