Should you chose to book a car at your disposal, it is a great opportunity to visit the Mega Spilaio Monastery, a spiritual site dating back to 362 AD perched 924 meters above Kalavryta. The site was rebuilt in 1285 after multiple destructions, including fires and wartime devastation. Today, it houses valuable relics, frescoes, and a museum. Afterward, you can descend to the lush village of Zachlorou for a stroll and lunch by the river, otherwise you can stop at a local taverna with a view and a taste of the local cuisine.
