Most sailing routes traditionally follow a 7-day Split-to-Split itinerary, with crew and guest changes taking place largely over the weekend. But Croatia+ by Travelive takes a slightly different approach.
While keeping the convenience of a 7-day Split/Trogir journey, we have used our local knowledge to select the ports, islands, and sailing schedules that venture beyond the standard routes and usual stops.

Saturday — Raising Sails
Welcome aboard.
After arriving in Split or Trogir, make your way on deck, where a glass of local wine will be waiting to toast the beginning of your Adriatic voyage.
But before you raise anchor, why not venture on a private city and food tour in Split, catching a glimpse of the city’s history and the flavors of Dalmatia before chasing them along Croatia’s coast? And trust us, one bite will have you going full speed ahead.

Sunday — Catching the Vis Vibe in Komiža
Set sail for Vis, where the Adriatic gets a little wilder, a little quieter, and a whole lot more captivating.
After a day on the water, arrive in Komiža, a beautifully preserved fishing village tucked beneath the island’s rugged hills. The kind of place where The Old Man and the Sea could’ve been written just about anyone.
Once there, step ashore and wander along the waterfront as fishing boats bob in the harbor. End the day at a local restaurant for dinner or simply find a spot by the sea and watch the sun slip beneath the horizon.

Mamma Mia! Filming Locations Tour
Those looking to experience the Adriatic’s cinematic appeal a bit more literally can step into the world of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again on a guided tour of its filming locations around the island.
Begin in the town of Vis, whose ferry port became the gateway to the fictional island of Kalokairi and the colorful “Greek market” that provided the backdrop for scenes involving Donna and Sam. Continue to St. Jerome Church, where young Donna and Bill help fisherman Alexio reach his wedding.
Then sail to Srebrna, the setting of young Donna and Sam’s romantic moonlit stroll, before finishing at Barjoška Bay, home to several beach scenes and the unforgettable Dancing Queen sequence. Along the way, enjoy a lunch in Komiža, whose Jastožera restaurant was transformed into a Greek taverna for the film.
Monday — Vis, A Vision Beyond the Postcard
There is more to Vis than crystal-clear waters, dramatic cliffs, and the occasional movie set.
Continue along the island’s coast toward Vis Town, where elegant stone architecture, a historic waterfront, and an unmistakably authentic Mediterranean character await.
After your time at sea, enjoy a leisurely afternoon swim before ending the day on land at your own pace, perhaps with a relaxed dinner in the company of the soothing waves.

The Military Island of Vis
Travelers looking to discover Vis way beyond the postcard can set a course for the military island of Vis on a fully guided journey into its fascinating military past.
Venture inland and along off-road trails to uncover the hidden Yugoslav military undergrounds and fortifications that reveal why Vis was once known as the “Forbidden Island.”

Leave Vis behind and continue toward Lastovo, one of Croatia’s most remote and unspoiled islands, where the usual sailing crowds feel a world away. Hvar Wine Timeline
If you've been looking to embrace the drinking part of a sailor’s lifestyle (responsibly, of course), then you couldn't have picked a better island than Hvar.
Wine has been part of the island’s identity for centuries, with the Ancient Greeks introducing grapevines to the fertile plain of Pharos as early as the 4th century BC.
Experience that history firsthand or, better yet, glass in hand, with a traditional tasting at one of Hvar’s renowned wineries, such as Carić in Vrboska or Plančić in Dol.

Krka National Park & Šibenik
Go from blue to green as you trade the sparkling Adriatic for the lush landscapes of Krka National Park.
Enjoy a scenic drive from Trogir toward the park, where rushing waters, emerald pools, and centuries of history make for a refreshing change of scenery. Follow the paths toward Skradinski Buk, Krka’s most iconic waterfall, and discover the remains of the historic hydroelectric plant built in 1895, one of Europe’s earliest examples of hydroelectric power engineering.
