Adriatic Coast to Athenian Riviera: Croatia, Montenegro & Greece

by Travelive Team

Combining countries across the Mediterranean works best when the routing is straightforward and each destination adds something distinct.

This itinerary links Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece through a sequence that is easy to manage on the ground while maintaining a consistent level of stay throughout. It begins at Villa Dubrovnik, positioned just outside the Old Town with direct sea access, and continues through One&Only Resorts properties in Montenegro and Athens.

Dubrovnik sets the tone along the Adriatic, Montenegro concentrates the experience within the Bay of Kotor, and Athens brings both scale and contrast, balancing history, food, and time by the sea.

  • 3 Nights in Croatia
  • 3 Nights in Montenegro
  • 4 Nights in Athens

Day 1 | Arrival in Dubrovnik

Arrive in Dubrovnik and transfer along the coastline to Villa Dubrovnik.

Set just outside the Old Town, the hotel offers direct access to the sea and uninterrupted views back toward the city walls. Spend the afternoon settling in, swimming from the hotel platform, or enjoying the coastline from above.

Villa Dubrovnik

Overlooking the Adriatic with views of Lokrum Island and Dubrovnik’s Old Town, Villa Dubrovnik is a refined 5-star retreat where architecture and landscape exist in perfect harmony. Clean lines frame a setting of sea, sky, and history, while understated luxury and attentive service create an atmothat feels both intimate and timeless.

Day 2 | Dubrovnik, Inside the Old City

Start early, before cruise arrivals change the pace of the city.

Walk along Stradun, when the limestone is still quiet, and move through monasteries, side streets, and lesser-used passages that most visitors miss. Your guide will focus on how Dubrovnik functioned as a maritime republic, not just what you see.

For a different perspective, step onto the city walls before midday, when conditions are clearer and more comfortable.

Day 3 | Korčula or Pelješac & Ston

Choose between an island day or a food-focused inland route.

In Korčula, the compact old town is easy to navigate, with narrow streets designed to channel air and open toward the sea. Time here is best spent without structure.

Alternatively, head to the Pelješac Peninsula and Ston. This region is known for its wines and oyster farms, with visits that tend to be more personal and less commercial.

Day 4 | Croatia to Montenegro – The Fjords of the Mediterranean

Follow the Adriatic coastline south into Montenegro.

As you enter the Bay of Kotor, the landscape becomes enclosed, with mountains rising directly from the water. Arrive at One&Only Portonovi, positioned at the entrance of the bay for easier access in both directions.

One&Only Portonovi

Sitting at the entrance to Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor, One&Only Portonovi pairs dramatic natural beauty with Riviera glamour. Surrounded by sapphire waters and forested mountains, the 5-star resort beams with contemporary design with effortless sophistication. From world-class dining to wellness at Chenot Espace Spa, every moment feels elevated, offering a refined and immersive take on Adriatic luxury.

Day 5 | Bay of Kotor by Sea

Explore the bay by private yacht.

Moving by water avoids the narrow coastal road and allows access to smaller towns and quieter points along the bay. Stop in Perast and continue toward Kotor, where the old town is compact and easy to walk.

Day 6 | Montenegro, A Taste of Tradition

Head inland for a cooking experience set within a monastery.

The focus is on local ingredients and traditional preparation, rather than presentation. The setting provides context to the food, making the experience feel grounded and authentic.

Day 7 | Montenegro to Greece – The Adriatic, One Last Time

Transfer back toward Dubrovnik for your flight to Athens.

On arrival, continue to One&Only Aesthesis, set along the coast outside the city center.

One&Only Aesthesis

Set along the Athenian Riviera within a protected pine reserve, One&Only Aesthesis evokes the glamour of a golden era. Just moments from Athens’ ancient landmarks, it blends coastal serenity with contemporary elegance, offering an exquisite 5-star escape defined by relaxed sophistication and a strong sense of place.

Day 8 | Athens, The Acropolis & the City

Begin early at the Acropolis.

Timing here makes a difference, allowing for easier access and better visibility. Your guide will focus on how the structures relate to one another, rather than treating them as isolated monuments.

Continue into the city, where neighborhoods shift quickly from one to the next, offering a more complete view of Athens beyond its landmarks.

Day 9 |Athens, Food & Neighborhoods

Experience Athens through its food.

Move through markets, bakeries, and small local spots that reflect how the city eats today. This is less about traditional dining and more about understanding daily life through flavor and setting.

Day 10 | Athens Riviera & Cape Sounion

Follow the coastal road south toward Cape Sounion, where the Temple of Poseidon stands above the sea.

The drive itself is part of the experience, passing small beaches and quieter stretches of the Riviera. At Sounion, walk around the temple site and take in the open views across the Aegean.

On the return, stop at a local seaside taverna for lunch, where the focus is on fresh fish, simple preparations, and a setting right by the water.

The rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy back at One&Only Aesthesis, whether at the beach, the pool, or the spa.

Day 11 | Departure

After breakfast, your transfer will be arranged to Athens Airport for your flight back home.

This itinerary brings together coastlines, cultures, and a consistent level of stay across multiple destinations, while allowing each place to stand on its own.

It’s a combination that feels considered, balanced, and easy to navigate from the first stop to the last.
