Day 1 | Arrival at the Gateway to Wonder

Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and let the city of a thousand minarets set the scene for what Egypt is all about: exploration. Ease into its ancient rhythms with a stroll through its historic streets. Savor its warm welcome with a generous serving of koshari at a local restaurant. Or simply take a moment to feel the pulse of a city that hasn’t lost a single beat throughout millennia.
Day 2 | History with Flying Colors
Every traveler has a bucket list of world-renowned sights they’d like to see. And you can bet each one has the Pyramids of Giza scribbled somewhere near the top of it.
Well, today you get to tick yours off; in spectacular fashion, nonetheless.
Take to the skies on a special motor-gliding experience over the Giza Plateau, where the timeless Pyramids unfold beneath you from a perspective few travelers get to enjoy. Visit the imposing Al-Rifa’i and Sultan Hassan Mosques, admire the peaceful courtyards of Ibn Tulun Mosque, and step inside the fascinating Gayer-Anderson Museum, where Cairo’s layered history takes on a more intimate scale.
Then, as dusk settles over the city, venture into the winding lanes of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, letting the glow of handmade lanterns and the scent of fragrant spices lead you through a part of the city that forever remains under the unbreakable spell of the past.
Day 4 | The Call of the Desert
In some places, you may hear the call of the mountains. In Egypt, it’s the desert that does the calling.
Answer it with a journey into the Fayoum Desert, where waterfalls, ancient fossils, and endless golden dunes create a landscape unlike anything Cairo could offer. Feel the cool rush of Wadi El Rayan’s waterfalls, glide across the water aboard a traditional felucca, and travel millions of years back in time at Wadi El Hitan, home to remarkable ancient whale fossils.
Then, pick up the pace with a 4×4 adventure across the dunes, followed by a little sandboarding before slowing down and discovering the colorful pottery traditions in the heart of Tunis Village.
Day 5 | Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh — Desert Culture & Starry Skies
For many, Egypt may be synonymous with desert dunes and sand-swept valleys. But as you will come to find out today, the sands along its sea-kissed shores are none too shabby either.
Travel onward to Sharm El Sheikh, a coveted coastal escape that manifests like an oasis by the Red Sea. After settling into your resort, embrace the spirit of the desert by trekking across its golden plains on camelback, sipping fragrant Habbak tea as the sun melts into the horizon, and learning the traditional art of Bedouin bread baking.
At the end of the day, settle beneath a canopy of stars for a buffet dinner accompanied by belly dancing and swirling Tannoura. Talk about something straight out of a mirage.
Day 6 | Into Crimson Waters
Curious to see if the Red Sea is as colorful as its name suggests? Then set sail for Ras Mohamed National Park, where one of Egypt’s most spectacular underwater worlds awaits. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters at two guided sites, swimming among coral gardens alive with vivid marine life (no watering required here) before going even deeper at Ras Um El Sid, one of Sharm El Sheikh’s most renowned snorkeling and diving sites.
When on the surface, relax on the sunlit deck, savor a fresh buffet lunch, and enjoy the Red Sea from above, its actual blue hues just as pleasing to the eye.
Day 7 | Desert, Meet Sea
Still looking for water in a desert? Look no further.
Journey off the beaten path to Dahab, a laid-back coastal gem where the rugged Sinai Desert meets the sparkling Red Sea. Travel by 4×4 through dramatic desert landscapes and wadis before diving into the legendary Blue Hole, an underwater portal that leads to…well, you’ll see for yourself.
After a beachside lunch, slow things down with a camel ride along the shore before wandering through Dahab’s colorful streets and shops, putting a fittingly vibrant end to this striking day of contrasts.
Into the Blue
Dahab’s legendary Blue Hole is one of the Red Sea’s most remarkable natural formations: a vast opening in the coral reef measuring roughly 230 feet across and 260 feet deep. At its depths, a dramatic underwater arch leads toward the open sea, adding another layer of mystery to this already extraordinary marine landscape. And while the arch is reserved for highly experienced divers, the surrounding reef can just as easily be enjoyed by snorkelers.
Day 8 | Return to Cairo
Every expedition needs a final night to take in the inventory, or add to it with some souvenir shopping.
Fly back to Cairo and settle into your hotel for one last evening in Egypt. With the major adventures behind you, let the city set a more relaxed pace. Take a gentle stroll along the Nile, seek out one final taste of local cuisine, or simply enjoy a quiet evening reflecting on everything you’ve uncovered.
