Picture this. You wake to soft waves, slide into clear blue waters before breakfast, then sail toward a whitewashed village where grilled octopus and a sunset table are waiting for you. That is a week on a private yacht in Greece. Easy. A little adventurous. And with Greece by Travelive ensuring smooth sailing, simply magical.

If your clients love the sea, enjoy endless comfort, and like spending time with their favorite people on a beautiful boat, then there’s a skipper waiting for them at the helm. Looking for the best bays? Prepare to drop anchor there. Need an extra layer of ease? A private chef and hostess can serve breakfast on deck, have picnic lunches appear in secret coves, and make dinners feel effortless. And if the captain offers his hat for a photo, take it. We fully support hat selfies.

But before you set course, here are a few things to consider when navigating the waters.

The Fleet

Now let’s talk boat types. Catamarans feel like floating beach houses. Wide decks. Stable ride. Perfect for families and groups who want space to spread out and step straight into the water. Motor yachts bring speed and polish. They cover more water in less time and often come with big sun pads, plush cabins, and more toys than you can use in a week. Whatever your travelers’ style, we can match the right yachts to their dates and group size.

The Course

Greece rewards a focused route. Distances at sea add up, so a seven-night charter shines when you stick to one island group. The Cyclades deliver the postcard moments. Think Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, and Milos. The latter is a sailor’s favorite, with pirate caves and coves like Kleftiko and Sykia that beg for a swim stop. In July and August, the local winds (Meltemia) can get lively, so we keep routes flexible and chase the best water day by day.

Looking for gentler seas? The Ionian Islands feel calm and green. Kefalonia’s Fiskardo is a classic sailor’s harbor with pretty quays and colorful houses. The Blue Caves near Zakynthos turn the water electric. It’s mellow sailing with vast swimming territory.

Meanwhile, the Saronic Gulf sits close to Athens and keeps crossings short. There, Hydra has no cars, so donkeys deliver the charm while you enjoy a cocktail by the harbor. Spetses brings chic seaside energy. And Aegina answers with pistachio ice cream and easy hop days.

For longer adventures with a quiet vibe, the Dodecanese stretch toward Turkey. Rhodes mixes beaches with medieval walls. Symi’s pastel harbor looks like a watercolor, and the anchorages nearby feel like your own private pool.

And if you still can’t decide, perhaps our Greek Island Matchmaker can be of assistance!

When to Go

May (from mid-May onwards for warmer seas), June, September, and October (ideally up to mid-October for warmer weather) are sweet spots. Warm sea. Friendly winds. Harbors with room. July and August bring big summer energy and stronger winds in the Cyclades. If your clients’ dates fall in peak season and they want that region, a motor yacht or a flexible plan keeps the fun high. And if they want smooth sailing, the Ionian or Saronic are your best friends.

A Word on the Weather

The sea sets the rhythm, and your captain knows its moods. Routes are suggested in advance, then fine-tuned along the way for comfort or a better swim. Some of the best memories happen when the breeze shifts and you anchor in a quiet bay where the water stays calm and clear. Bring sunscreen and a good playlist. We will handle the rest.

How Costs Work

Most charters use an Advance Provisioning Allowance for fuel, food, drinks, and port fees. This is usually about thirty-five to forty percent of the weekly yacht rate and is paid to the charter company before you sail. The captain tracks everything and shares updates. Anything you do not use comes back at the end. Simple and transparent.

Sailing Off Into the Sunset

Getting started is easy. Tell us if your clients have chartered before or if this will be their first time. Share the dates, the group size, and how they would like the cabins arranged. Let us know if they prefer a catamaran or a motor yacht, and which island group feels right for their wish list. A budget range also helps hit the target faster. Most trips run seven nights, usually Saturday to Saturday, and some yachts offer flexible start days and durations in certain seasons.

Once we have the details, we’ll hold a few great yachts, sketch a route that fits the preferred pace, and send clear choices. All your clients have to do is bring swimsuits and sunglasses, and we will handle everything else. Should the sunglasses fall in, they will not be the first. Consider it an offering to Poseidon.

All Aboard!

If this sounds like the kind of summer your clients will love, then send Greece by Travelive your dates and group details, and they’ll be sailing across the deep blue seas in no time!

You can spend a lifetime scouring the Atlantic without finding a treasure like Madeira. As one of Portugal’s islands of eternal spring, the aptly named “Pearl of the Atlantic” shines in perpetuity as a gem of unadulterated, breathtaking beauty. And nowhere does it come off as more striking than from the waters of its open seas. For discovering Madeira offshore is akin to doing it like so many explorers had centuries ago, and with Travelive, your clients have a chance to join them.

“The Pearl of the Atlantic”

Could you imagine what it must have felt like for João Gonçalves Zarco and Tristão Vaz Teixeira to discover (albeit accidentally) Madeira for the first time? To behold it in all its glory from aboard their vessel? If ever there was a page from a travel journal worth reading, that might be it. And perhaps it would go something like this:

1419 — “It rose from the mists like some vision borne of fable, green and fierce in its beauty. Its mighty, towering cliffs, fell sheer into the foaming waves, while above them the mountains soared heavenward, their crowns veiled in clouds and mystery. The air carried a sweetness unknown upon the open waters, a fragrance of blossoms that seemed to promise abundance beyond measure. It may very well be that this verdant isle was laid upon the ocean as an emerald jewel created to reflect the magnificence of Eden itself.”

Carry on the legacy of renowned Portuguese explorers (though with more comfort and sophistication) by chartering a private yacht and carving our own way through the storied waters surrounding Madeira.

With your own captain and crew, glide toward the true meaning of freedom as you set course toward your innermost seabound desires. Put your mark on the map by uncovering the untamed Ponta de São Lourenço, a dramatic peninsula of sheer cliffs, turquoise coves, and hidden beaches. Swim in crystalline waters, pause for sun-drenched moments, and savor lunch prepared by your private chef.

Should your inner seafarer yearn for more exquisite exploration, the golden beaches of Porto Santo Island await your footprints. With no schedules and no shared groups, this is the perfect way to sail off into the sunset on an adventure all your own.

In Madeira, the sea isn’t just a backdrop, it’s the author of the island’s most unforgettable stories. From the first explorers who marveled at its shores to today’s travelers who drift along its glittering waters, the ocean has always been the gateway to the island’s beauty. And with Travelive, your clients will sail through it with luxury, comfort, wonder, and a sense that every wave is writing a story they will never forget.

Day 1 – Arrival in Split | Gateway to the Adriatic

Before you start scouring Adriatic waters for signs of land, touchdown in Split, the radiant heart of Dalmatia, where Roman palaces and seaside promenades blend historical grandeur with coastal splendor. Let the city welcome you amid iconic red-orange rooftops as you wander through narrow marble streets lit by lantern glow or enjoy a seaside dinner as the waves lap gently against the Riva.

Day 2 – Flavors of Split & Ferry to Brač

Catch a glimpse of Croatia’s mainland as you mix cultural richness with flavorsome treasures on a guided walking tour of Split. Wander the vibrant Greenmarket, tasting local delicacies and the savory soparnik, a pie so treasured it’s protected by the EU! Savor a taste of history at artisanal shops in the 1,700-year-old streets of the Diocletian’s Palace. Let the Grgur Ninski statue bring you good luck in the form of a light lunch comprised of pasta or risotto. Then, have the sweet notes of the city’s oldest pastry shop follow you across the Adriatic as you take a ferry to Brač, where island life awaits amid verdant hills and turquoise coasts.

Day 3 – The Best of Brač & Vidova Gora Hike

Seize your first day on the vibrant shores of Brač by diving into its diverse nature through art, scenery, and flavor. Reveal its inner beauty by stepping inside a local gallery, where stone sculptures and island craftsmanship share stories carved into the island’s soul. Witness its character manifest with a hike up Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the Adriatic islands, where sweeping views of the Dalmatian archipelago reveal its unexpected grandeur. Then, strike gold with a tasting at an olive oil museum, prior to savoring a true island marenda lunch before the day’s end.

Day 4 – Blue Cave & Five-Island Adventure

What’s the use of being surrounded by all those shimmering waters if you don’t uncover their treasures? Set sail across Croatia’s shimmering seascape, where every stop feels like another jewel cast upon the Adriatic. Glide into the Blue Cave of Biševo, where sunlight transforms stone and sea into glowing sapphire. Drift past the curious Monk Seal Cave, swim between Stinivas’ dramatic cliffs, and sink into the turquoise calm of the Budikovac lagoon. Savor a pause at the chic bays of the Pakleni Islands before stepping ashore in lively Hvar and soaking up the glamor of one of Europe’s sunniest spots.

Day 5 – A Culinary Journey Through Brač

Have the sea breeze spread the aroma of your own cooking as you immerse yourself in the island’s culinary heritage. Connect with the land as you wander through fragrant gardens and fields, handpicking fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants that will soon come together in a tasty display of Croatian heritage. Pause at a family-owned cellar in Milna to sip local wines, liqueurs, and rich olive oils before continuing to the serene bay of Smrka. Here, in the rustic charm of a stone house by the sea, master the secrets of Dalmatian cuisine and savor dishes made with your own hands.

Day 6 – At Leisure on An Island of Your Own

Feel what it’s like to have an island all to yourself as you explore Brač at your own pace. Awaken to the sensations of life in the Adriatic and let your imagination wander as a combination of sun, sand, and “sea-renity” turns this day into one in paradise. Should you feel the call of exploration, Travelive can answer it; perhaps whisking you off to Bol, the oldest town on Brač and gateway to the world-famous Zlatni Rat, the “Golden Horn,” a shifting tongue of white pebbles that stretches into the turquoise sea.

Day 7 – Departure from Brač | Farewell to Paradise

As your time on Brač draws to a close, let the island’s last embrace linger in your memory. Stroll once more along its sun-dappled shores or sip a final cup of Croatian coffee while gazing out at the endless blue. Whether it’s the echo of waves against pebbled beaches, the scent of olive groves carried on the breeze, or the tastes that tell centuries-old stories, each moment you’ve lived here has revealed a land that will always call you back across the Adriatic.

Where to Start?
When it comes to yacht charters, preparation is key! Chartering a yacht requires more than just booking dates — it involves careful planning; from choosing the right vessel to outlining the perfect itinerary. Here’s a breakdown of the essential questions you’ll need to ask your clients before casting off:

1. Have you chartered a yacht before?
Whether your client is a first-timer or a seasoned sailor, understanding their experience level helps ensure clear communication and sets the right expectations for the trip.

2. What’s your preferred type of yacht?
Yachts come in all shapes and sizes, each offering a unique experience. Here’s a quick guide to the most popular yacht types:

Catamaran: Spacious and stable, ideal for families or groups seeking a comfortable, relaxed cruise.

Motor Sailer or Gullet: These combine traditional charm with modern engines and are perfect for leisurely, scenic coastal journeys.

Motor Yacht: The ultimate choice for speed and luxury, complete with top-tier amenities and plenty of toys for water activities.

Mini Cruiser (Croatia): Offering a blend of luxury and intimacy, these vessels feature 15-19 cabins, perfect for small groups who want to explore the Adriatic Sea in style.

3. What size yacht are you looking for?
This will depend on the size of the group and the level of luxury they’re after. Larger yachts can accommodate bigger groups, while smaller ones offer a more intimate experience.

4. How many people are in your party?
Understanding the group size is crucial for choosing the right yacht and ensuring there are enough cabins and crew to accommodate everyone comfortably.

5. What are the cabin preferences?
Make sure you confirm cabin arrangements in advance, as it’s impossible to make changes once the yacht is out at sea.

6. What’s the budget?
Private yacht charters offer an unparalleled luxury experience, but they come with a higher price tag. Setting the right budget expectations from the start will help narrow down options.

7. What destinations are on their wish list?
It’s important to know where your clients want to go and make sure their desired destinations are feasible. This ensures smooth sailing without unexpected deviations from the itinerary.

8. How long do they want to charter the yacht?
Yacht charters typically have a minimum stay requirement, often around seven days, and usually Saturday to Saturday. However, shorter charters may be available depending on the type of boat, country, and season.

What is APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)?

APA is a common term in yacht chartering and covers expenses like fuel, food, drinks, and any additional costs such as port fees. This allowance is typically around 30% of the weekly yacht charter fee and is paid upfront directly to the boat company. The captain will keep track of expenses and any unused funds will be refunded to the client at the end of the trip.

Navigating the Seas: Destination Insights
Every destination offers a unique yachting experience, from stunning landscapes to local sailing conditions. Here’s a quick overview of what to know about each country:

Greece: Best from May to October. The Ionian and Saronic islands offer smooth sailing, while the Cyclades are more popular but tend to be windier.

Spain: Ideal from May to October. The Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca) are hotspots, and early booking is recommended.

Portugal: The Algarve and Douro River offer scenic routes, with May to October being the peak season.

Croatia: Sailing is recommended from the end of May to mid-October (to avoid periods of Jugo – southern wind). Split to Dubrovnik is a classic route, with stops at islands like Vis, Hvar, and Korčula. Northern Croatia can offer more places with untouched natural beauty.

Best Times to Book

For all destinations, early booking (6-12 months ahead) is advised to secure the best yacht and rates, especially during peak seasons. For mini cruiser charters in Croatia, we advise booking as far as 18 months ahead.

Minimum Stay Requirements
Most yachts require a 7-day minimum, but shorter options may be available, depending on the vessel and season.

Greece: Catamarans and motor yachts are top choices.

Portugal: Sailboats and river cruisers are in high demand for exploring the Douro River.

Croatia: Catamarans and motor yachts are the go-to for up to 8 pax, and motor sailers for up to 14 pax that want a more elevated experience. At the same time, traditional gullets and especially mini cruisers for larger groups are popular.
