Today, you will have the opportunity to self explore Kalavryta’s rich history and natural beauty. Start with a visit to Kalavryta Holocaust Museum, which offers insights into the town’s turbulent past during WWII, and ascend the hill to admire the Holocaust Monument. Should you chose to book a car at your disposal, it is a great opportunity to visit the Mega Spilaio Monastery, a spiritual site dating back to 362 AD perched 924 meters above Kalavryta. The site was rebuilt in 1285 after multiple destructions, including fires and wartime devastation. Today, it houses valuable relics, frescoes, and a museum. Afterward, you can descend to the lush village of Zachlorou for a stroll and lunch by the river, otherwise you can stop at a local taverna with a view and a taste of the local cuisine.

Day 4 Ski Time!

The most exciting day is finally here! With slopes catering to all skill levels, the ski center offers activities for beginners and seasoned skiers alike. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Corinth as you carve through the snow. Conclude the day with a warm drink by the fire back in the village.

If the weather is not suitable for skiing, no worries; Kalavryta offers two wonderful alternatives. If you are feeling like hiking, consider walking down the stunning Vouraikos Gorge and return to Kalavryta with the popular train attraction “Odontotos”. Otherwise, get your car at disposal and head toward Kastria and Planitero. In Kastria, discover the Cave of the Lakes, a 2,000-meter-long natural wonder near Kalavryta, this cave features a subterranean river forming small lakes, stunning stalactites, and stalagmites. Visitors explore 500 meters of narrow corridors and bridges. Seasonal changes reveal waterfalls in winter and dry cave formations in summer. Just 10 km from Kalavryta, Planitero is a lush haven known for its ancient plane trees and natural springs. Enjoy fresh trout dishes at local taverns, hiking trails, and the serene scenery.

Day 5 Onward to Metsovo
